Andrew Lu, Assistant Photo Editor The English Department voted unanimously to discontinue the Writing Certificate on Wednesday, Sept. 7. This decision comes after the departure of University Professor of English and Writing Certificate Co-Director Anne Greene, who announced her retirement at the end of the Fall 2021 semester. Greene created the Writing Certificate in 2012 and acted as the Certificate’s coordinator until she retired. After her retirement, enrollment in the Writing Certificate was paused for a year, until the English Department made the decision to permanently discontinue it.
