Sharon Morgan, writer, genealogist, speaks about racism, slavery November 8 in Fayetteville

Sharon Leslie Morgan Sharon Leslie Morgan, a renowned writer, genealogist, and innovator in multicultural marketing will be speak candidly about racism and the unhealed wounds of slavery. In their book, “Gather at the Table,” Morgan (daughter of slavery) and her co-author Thomas DeWolf, (son of slave trade) write, “The legacy of slavery is a combination of historical, cultural, and structural trauma that continues to touch everyone in American society today.” Racism is more subtle now than in the past, but it still exists, the authors argue. Morgan has completed STAR (Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience) training at Eastern Mennonite University; an organization that provides relevant and timely skills for addressing racial conflict in society today. Sharon will be available to sign books during this event. This free event will take place at the Hummingbird Room, 300 City Center Pkwy, Suite B, Fayetteville, and is hosted by the Fayette County Library and Fayette County Community Remembrance Coalition.
