Windsor Suite

On this particular journey in 1991, André was accompanying a legendary celebrity to Paris. André would style her hair; Michael would the makeup artist. She was launching a new perfume line and what better place than the style-center of the universe, Paris, France.  No longer sweeping hair, Michael was, for two years now, the lead makeup artist at the André Atelier and was responsible for all celebrity makeup at the salon, and now on tour. André would, as always quaff her legendary, signature hair which was as much her brand as her new perfume.  
The tour and the publicity was over; their work was done, Amdré had decided to stay a few extra days to show his protégé around the ‘real' Paris.  Their client had left the day before bound for Los Angeles.

The Windsor Suite was named for England's Duke and Duchess of Windsor. At $10,000 a night it was magnificent.  Portraits of the Duke and Duchess adorned the walls.  Antique Louis XVI furniture, deep warm hues, and rich fabrics completed the room.  The glint of gilded gold was everywhere.  The hot light of the crystal chandelier cast cool shadows; french doors opened onto a small balcony, and a beautiful garden lay beyond.  The bustle of the busy street was barely audible from the sanctuary of the suite.  How was it that he, a nobody from Texas, had joined the ranks of Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Winston Churchill, Princess Diana, and countless other VIP's to the roster of guests of the Windsor Suite, Ritz Hotel, Paris?
